EPIC – the energy product innovation centre, is an Applied Research Enhancement Centre in energy products being pursued by Dublin Institute of Technology. At present there is no ‘one-stop-shop’ for those companies in Ireland developing and commercialising innovations in the rapidly expanding and highly valuable global energy market.

EPIC will provide a fast track solution for Irish companies seeking to get their developments to market in a timely and cost effective manner. The expertise available to EPIC will provide product & service development, laboratory and ‘in-use’ testing and certified product performance verification.

The facility will be managed through DIT’s Dublin Energy Lab and will deliver a number of key benefits to companies including access to a broad range of applied energy research expertise links with other Irish and International experts beyond DIT and an ideal location for Irish companies wishing to showcase their products & services to potential overseas clients.

Through The Green Way partners, particularly Hothouse & Invent, EPIC will provide guidance in carrying out new product / service beta testing, advice on funding routes, direction on patenting, information on finance, manufacturing, marketing & distributing channels and promotion – for example, permanent exhibition space, information evenings, access to venture capitalists etc.
